Sra. Barton.
My name is Michelle Barton and I am an early childhood teacher at ECEC at Wood Dale School District 7. This website is a resource for both the family and the child. On this site you will find great information on ways you can help your child love and enjoy learning. You will also discover what is happening in our classroom this year. I encourage you to check this site periodically. In addition to being a teacher I am a mother of two children. I have a daughter who is 15 years old and attends Fenton and a son who is 8 years old and attends Westview. I enjoy hiking, camping, and music. I play a couple of instruments. The one your child will hear most frequently is the autoharp. I enjoy singing and playing music with children. Occasionally, I will bring my trumpet to play as well. While I have over 20 years of early childhood experience, this will be my seventh year teaching at ECEC. I have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education Approval, ESL Endorsement and Bilingual Endorsement. I am a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the DuPage Association for the Education of Young Children. I am very excited to be working with the teachers, students, and families of ECEC. We will have an exciting and educational year ahead of us, and I look forward to meeting and creating relationships with you and your child.
Thank you for visiting my site and I look forward to a fantastic year at ECEC!
Mrs. Barton.
Hello, my name is Leticia Cano and I am a paraprofessional at ECEC. This year I am with Mrs. Barton in the bilingual class in which our students have the opportunity to learn in Spanish as well they do in English. Being bilingual helps me to communicate with the students in our room in their primary language, helping them to be more open with their communication and to create a great bond as they acquire a new language.
This is my sixteenth year at ECEC! I feel so fortunate to have the privilege to work with the children through these years, to receive their love, hugs and smiles and to watch them learn and grow. They bring me so much joy and bring a smile to my face every day. I am proud to be part of the wonderful staff of ECEC.
I live in Wood Dale with my Dad. I have a son and a daughter, Arturo who live on his own and Esmeralda who is married and is the mom of Robbie! My grandchild who is two years old and keep me busy traveling to California to see him in each opportunity I have. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working on my garden and traveling.
I look forward to another great year at ECEC with you and your children.
